2015 really has been a great year here at the Giltar Hotel, you could even say that it’s been an award winning year for us and for that we are truly grateful and have lots of people to thank.  We would like to start by thanking our customers.  2015 has seen so many customers returning to the hotel and choosing us to celebrate special occasions.  Seeing family and friends getting together and creating wonderful memories all year round makes it all worthwhile.    Diolch (Thank You)

Our awards and accolades this year have been diverse, which reflects on the efforts of all teams within the Hotel.  From our front of house team right through to our maintenance and gardening team:

·         Finalists at the South Wales Chamber Business Awards (Rural Tourism Award)

·         Winner of Customers Service and Leisure & Tourism  at The Pembrokeshire Radio Awards

·         Best Sunday Lunch in Pembrokeshire as voted for by the readers of the Pembrokeshire Herald

·         Gold Award in Wales in Bloom

·         Gold Award in Tenby in Bloom

This year seen the launch of our themed nights and am pleased not only to see that our first 2 events were sold out but to see so many of our customers having a great night.  We look forward to having more themed nights, 2 of which are planned in and another which is due to be launched imminently.

We have also grown our kitchen team with the introduction of our new chef Jimmy, to work alongside our Head Chef Philip (who has done a tremendous job over the past 6 years) to further develop what we have to offer in the restaurant.  

Each year we must send thanks to the wonderful Linda Hunt of Meigan Design who never seizes to amaze us with her transformations of the hotel.  We’ve seen our main entrance made over with slate flooring (which almost every customer has commented on) along with the introduction of 5 new rooms including the much talked about St. Margaret’s deluxe room ‘the one with the bath in the room’.  Linda, we could not do it without you and we send out love and thanks for your hard work, support and continued friendship.

I must not forget the delightful Alison Belton of Outsource me Limited.  Alison has taken a very active support role with the hotel this year and has been extremely encouraging and pro-active in helping us move the hotel to the next level with her marketing expertise.  Again, another key person assisting us with the growth of the hotel.    Thank you Alison and we look forward to working with you throughout 2016 and seeing what new plans unfold!

I would like end this by paying particular thanks to our very loyal staff.  Those of you that have been coming to the hotel for a number of years will appreciate the loyalty of our staff as we have a core team which has not changed.   To every single member of staff, we thank you for your continued support and effort which has got us to where we are today.

Once again we'd like to thank all staff, customers and suppliers for making 2015 a truly fantastic year and would like to wish you all a prosperous 2016.

Had my wedding reception here and 2 yrs later, my daughter got married here! Both times the food was lovely, the service was spot on and the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was just how it was wanted! Highly recommend it! And Sunday Dinner is good too! Can't fault it at all!
