Back in January we were informed that we were finalists at The South Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards in the 'Commitment to Customer Service' category.

At this stage we were thrilled to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award, as we were last year for getting shortlisted in the Rural Tourism Achievement category.  In the absence of the tourism category at this years awards meant that we were one of only a few businesses representing Tourism and found ourselves as only a few finalists from our county, Pembrokeshire.

The awards were held at the National Museum in Cardiff and was attended by hundreds of succcessful businesses from a wide range of sectors in South Wales.  In the absence of Malcolm who was taking a well deserved holiday in the sun, the hotel was represnted by Alison Belton and Natalie Reynolds, both assist the hotel with their marketing and communications.  

The awards kicked off with a few short speeches and before we knew it, the time arrived for the first award winner to be announced which happened to be our category!  The finalists were listed and they then proceeded to describe the winner - it was us!  

"Good customer service is an integral part of any successful business. Whether a company’s customers are consumers or mega-corporations, treating them with respect and care is one of the best ways to strengthen a company’s reputation and boost the bottom line. The winning business will have implemented a new initiative to improve customer service in the last year with clear standards, an explanation of the steps taken to achieve them and details of the impact on the business."

Being recognised for our Commitment to Customer Service outside of Pembrokeshire is such an honour. After all the glitz and glam of the awards ceremony we must not forget to mention the reason that we've won this award - our team (each and every one of you)!

As many of you would know, lots of our staff have been with us for a number of years and no matter what is going on, they continue to have smiles on their faces with excellent customer service at the forefront of their minds. We could not have done this without you! You are the reason that we continue to grow each year

Thanks to all the staff for making our ruby anniversary weekend so special , We had a brilliant time staying at your wonderfull Hotel , lovely staff , lovely food we would recomend the Giltar Hotel to everyone , Thank you all xx
